Professional Basketball Timing & Scoring System

Our basketball timing and scoring system is a high-reliability real-time electronic solution built for professional sports venues and tournaments. Integrated with timing-scoring hardware, game statistics software, LED display panels and multi-protocol data interfaces, the system enables real-time capture, processing, transmission and publishing of game data.

Designed to meet FIBA, CBA and NBA official competition regulations, this all-in-one solution is optimized primarily for basketball, while also compatible with badminton, volleyball, table tennis and soccer. It can be configured for tennis, handball, futsal, ice hockey, field hockey and other court sports.

The complete package includes a multi-function referee console, team foul indicator, 24-second shot clock display, possession arrow indicator, game horn, laptop-operated scoring software and main arena LED scoreboard system. Via wired and wireless network communication, all units synchronize game time, team scores, foul counts, timeouts, possession status and shot clock values to local scoreboards, broadcast feeds and print modules.

Core Advantages

  • Portable desktop referee console: Built-in score and status display, standalone stable operation, immune to external signal interference, simple for on-court officials to operate.
  • Multi-stream data output: Simultaneously send live game data to statistics platforms, venue display controllers, event management systems and broadcast systems.
  • Full rule compatibility: Supports FIBA, NBA and CBA basketball rules, with toggleable 24-second / 14-second shot clock countdown modes.
  • Separated hardware & software design: The referee console handles live data entry and edits; the display software manages visual output, reducing operational conflicts and minimizing human error.
  • Flexible peripheral integration: Compatible with a wide range of external LED scoreboards, backboard rim lights and external audio triggers for game alerts.
  • International compliance: Validated by authoritative sports equipment testing, approved for international venue commissioning and global bidding projects.

Basketball Scoring Software Functions

Works hand-in-hand with the referee console for pre-game setup, in-game control and post-game report generation, operated on a Windows laptop by event administrators.

  1. Batch athlete import: One-click import of player rosters to cut down pre-game manual entry.
  2. Starting lineup lock: Confirm starting five before tip-off and generate official starting roster records.
  3. Rule set configuration: Customize quarter length, overtime duration, timeout limits and shot-clock settings; resize display windows.
  4. Tournament scheduler: Supports group stages, round-robin and knockout bracket management.
  5. Multi-court management: Configure separate match sessions for multiple courts within one facility.
  6. Official assignment: Store referee profiles and assign officials to individual fixtures.
  7. Post-game report export: Generate a full official electronic basketball score sheet for archiving and printing.
  8. LED scoreboard customisation: Adjust layout, upload team logos and reposition UI elements for arena main screens.

System Architecture

The system uses a hybrid wired + wireless network design:

  1. The referee console connects team foul indicators, shot clock units, possession arrow and game horn via RVVP4*0.75 signal cable. Handheld trigger controllers are available for courtside auxiliary operation.
  2. CAT6 Ethernet cable links the main console to a wireless router for communication with the arena LED scoreboard system.
  3. Two laptops are recommended for operation: one for event registration & scheduling, the second for live scoring and timing control.
  4. All live match data can be fed to third-party broadcast systems over Ethernet via standard protocol interfaces.

Application Scenarios

  • Professional indoor arenas hosting sanctioned basketball competitions
  • University & high-school gymnasiums for league fixtures
  • Multi-purpose sports complexes for basketball, volleyball and court sports
  • Sports training centres, venue retrofit & upgrade projects
  • Event production companies and live broadcast service providers
